I couldn’t say the price was attractive. But at least the product was genuine and delivered in a good protecting packaging.
The P.A. Synthetic board itself is quite satisfying. It is a “cutting board” so it does get marks and cuts on the surface whilst it is still resistant to them to some degree. You will see the knife marks mostly from the chopping actions where you have to be forcing your knife through carrots, apples, or radishe like things that are a bit harder than others.
Slicing pork and bacon will leave more marks plus stain (as you will be slicing more back and forth). This board is “vulnerable” to the stain. Greasy fat will leave stain behind and it won’t go away easy. You will see the black shadowy stain after the wash. However this may go away eventually.
So, while the board still has the marks and is easy to get stain… why am I giving it 5 stars?
It is black. So you won’t see many marks that are visible. And the blackness gives ingredients visual freshness. The marks will be still visible at what angle you see and under what light you are.
Stain and marks? Just sand them off. I bought MS-51 scraper set for this. Haven’t tried it yet though. But this is how this board is meant to be maintained.
Chemicals. This is best part. It won’t give you any microplastics or its flake, and it is ok with normal household bleach. Bleach will give it extra degeee of sanitisation and hopefully, some stain removal too. Also it is very resistant to the water so you don’t need to worry too much aboout hard water leaving any stain behind (Thanks again customer support team for confirming my inquiry regarding use of bleach).
I will be having a new born baby soon so I have needed a cutting board that is plastic free, hygienic and BIFL. And this board is certainly it. No regret!
