Oitomi - Cast Iron Kettle Miyabi Blue 0.4L, Tea Pot
Nambu Tekki
This iron kettle named Miyabi has a distinguishing silhouette.
The lid and base are octagonal, arcing out in a straight line.
As the kanji character of number eight looks like folding-fan, it is thought to be auspicious in Japan. The octagonal form, similar to a violin or an acoustic guitar, also reminds us of human body and gives us a sense of ease.
Weighing only about 1 kg, it is small among iron kettles. The inside is not enameled but kama-yaki processed to make it attractive for those expecting iron supplement.

Wipe off the excess water around the lid and other parts well, as discoloration and rusting can easily occur.
Please note that cooking near this pot may result in oil stains and discoloration due to oil splashes.
If the gas flame reaches the body of the pot, the part is likely to discolor, so be careful not to increase the heat too much.
Used over an open flame, the base will gradually turn white.
! Notice
The surface is coated with an antirust oxide layer using the traditional technique called kama-yaki, but because it is cast iron, rust may occur due to moisture and humidity.
Since the inside is not enameled, the leached iron and tannin may bind and discolor the tea. It is harmless to the human body.
